How to Prepare for your Inteview
Research the company
Sounds like a simple thing to remember but you’d be surprised how many people turn up to interviews not knowing anything about the company they are applying to work with. All you need is to memorise a few simple facts about them (you can find these easily on the website or by using LinkedIn!)
Plan your route
Nothing screams unprepared more than arriving to your interview late. Unfortunately, road diversions and train cancellations aren’t acceptable excuses when you are trying to make a good first impression. It’s a good idea to arrive to the destination an hour early and spend time in a nearby café – not only does this give you time to breathe but it will also give you a chance to look over your notes again.
Prepare some questions to ask at the end
Make sure you have some interesting questions to ask at the end of the interview. Even if you think they have covered everything you was going to ask, replying with “I don’t have any questions, I think you’ve covered everything” makes you sound uninterested.
Pick a suitable outfit
When picking your outfit always overdress, don't overdress. Remember to dress for the job you want, it will do wonders for your confidence and leave you feeling brand new! Make sure you also prepare your outfir the night before. Not only does this save you time in the morning but will make you a lot more destressed for the morning ahead. You’re going to be nervous for your interview so why put more obstacles in the way?
Get a good night’s sleep
Don’t underestimate how powerful a good night’s sleep is. You’ll be feeling alert, ready and switched on for your interview! Put any electronics away an hour before you go to sleep – this will give your body time to unwind naturally.
