Q&A with New Starter, Sarah McCabe
Welcome Sarah! Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’ve just started at thryve and its my first week, its my first time in recruitment.
Have you always worked in Recruitment or is this your first time?
This is my first time working in recruitment! Although a few of my friends work in recruitment, so I did know a little bit about it, but most of it is completely new for me.
How are you finding working life at the moment?
With lockdown, I am loving coming into the office and getting out of the house! It is nice to get back to some normality and into a routine again. Also, its good to work alongside the other guys in the office as I can learn a lot from them!
What are your thoughts on going back to the office and meeting your team for the first time?
I was able to come into the office from my trial day, which is great as I was able to meet the team at the beginning. I have also had a few zoom meetings with other team members but I am really looking forward to meeting everyone face-to-face once everyone is back in the office.
How have you spent your days off during lockdown?
I have tried to keep my days as busy as possible with cooking, homework, reading (although I have had the odd PJ day). As the weather has been lovely, I have also spent also of time going for long walks, bike rides and picnics!
What 3 things will you take from this experience? (lockdown)
- Keep positive
- How important friends / family are
- Do not take the simple things in life for granted / appreciate everything
What are you finding difficult at the moment?
Everything is going well so far as its only my first day, but I think at first it may take a bit of time getting back into the work life after being at home for a few months – but I’m looking forward to it.
What advice would you give to anyone who was to be onboarded remotely?
I was lucky to be able to come into the office from day one, but I would say just to trust the process and thryve makes it easy and simple for you. Also, ask questions if you are unsure about anything and keep connected / in touch with people as much as you can.
