The Client
THRYVE are partnered with a client building a regulated, data-intensive product where data and ML already sit at the heart of the business, focused within the Fintech space.

As the platform grows, the key goal is understanding how to scale teams, systems, and decision-making without everything feeling stretched.

This role exists to bring clarity, structure, and leadership to that next phase. You will partner directly with the Founders and the existing team to build a robust team and processes with a shared goal.
What success looks like in this role

We’re looking for someone who thinks beyond tools and models, and instead focuses on how teams execute well over time.

In practice, that means:

  • Building an environment where teams can deliver consistently, not just in bursts
  • Identifying and addressing the hard engineering problems that come with scale, data volume, and regulation
  • Creating team structures and ways of working that don’t rely on a few key individuals
  • Making thoughtful trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability

This is as much a leadership role as it is a technical one.
The kinds of challenges you’ll be dealing with:

  • Scaling data and ML systems that are already in production
  • Maintaining reliability, explainability, and trust as usage and expectations grow
  • Aligning engineering, product, and business priorities when everything feels important
  • Deciding where to invest internal effort vs. where outside support makes sense
  • Aiding with goals to increase headcount by 2x by EOY

This role is well suited to someone who:

  • has led or owned data and/or ML teams in a production environment
  • has operated in regulated, financial, or high-trust domains
  • has seen what happens when teams scale without enough structure and wants to do it better
  • is comfortable talking about people, systems, and hiring challenges, not just technology
  • enjoys shaping teams and organizations, not just architectures
